To give you some background, the original recipe dates back to the 15th century from the Transylvanian era when it was part of Hungary. Back then, it used to be a wedding cake and was made on hot ash. Nowadays it is a popular market food and many of our customers recognise it, if they are from and/or have travelled to Budapest, Prague and Eastern Europe.
In Australia, when walking through the markets we are at, people wonder where the sweet smells are coming from. Once drawn in, they watch with amazement the theatre of the traditional rolling of dough while waiting for their pastry to be baked fresh right out of the oven. Our customers say the pastry tastes like a donut or a pretzel but much better.
Our philosopy is freshness, quality and taste. We would like to share this same philosophy amongst all who enjoy our products.
